Meet Theresa Garvin

Theresa has spent over 35 years as a psychotherapist and licensed clinical social worker, working in a variety of settings, including 12 years in private practice. She has worked with kids, teens, young adults, families, and individual adults. She spent six years working at the Hallowell Center in Sudbury, MA where she was trained in treating children and adults with ADHD. She also taught for seven years at Boston College Graduate School of Social Work.

In 2018, she didn’t quite realize that she was in search of a change not only in her career path, but also in her life. That is when she discovered the path of Transformational Coaching, and she began as a client in this work. In 2020, she decided to become trained and certified as a Transformational Coach. In December of 2022, she closed out her private psychotherapy practice, and opened her new business, The Life You Imagine.

While she loves guiding adults through this proven, reliable system of transformation, she also created a family version of this work. The families she has taken through this model over the past two years have achieved amazing results, such as; more open and effective communication, consistent structure and routines at home, clear expectations, limits and boundaries, more quality time, shared experiences, and, most importantly, feeling happier.

The Thriving Families model begins with an assessment to decide if this model is the right fit for the family. If they are a fit, Theresa will customize the program to that family's unique needs as she guides them in creating a vision for the individuals, and the family, as a whole.

Theresa has personally experienced these transformations in love, relationships, business and finance, and most importantly, in her own home and family dynamics. The power and joy of this work has been life-changing, and she is eager to share it with you.
